Next Season goes out: December 15th
Woman relaxing outside with a coffee, feet up, off duty

A seasonal snail mail club · Women 40+

Stop being
so useful.

A seasonal snail mail club for women 40+ who are really good at getting shit done, and could use a little help remembering how to have fun.

Take me off duty  Next mail date 11/6.

Sound familiar?

  • 01You finally sit down at 8:17pm
and remember the laundry is still
    in the washer.
  • 02A free Saturday and you end up
    at Target buying toothpaste.
  • 03Someone asks what you want to do and your mind goes blank.

You don't need to get better at relaxing. You need a few good ideas, fewer decisions, and permission to sit on your butt.

Being needed feels normal. Doing something with no productive outcome does not.

I have now been walking everyday since you sent me info!
I wasn’t walking. I would come home from school exhausted.
I would set the goal for 30 minute walk. And then decide I was too tired and it seemed too much. I love your idea of setting the goal at 10 minutes. I set a timer. It goes off. I know I made my goal and then want to keep walking. Walked for a half hour last night!
Def can keep it going when school starts.

Why this exists

Hi, I'm Kim.

I’ve spent more than 20 years helping women with health and fitness.

And somewhere along the way, our conversations stopped being about how many grams of carbs were in
a cup of oatmeal.

Because the women I worked with didn’t need another stricter plan. They were already working really f&cking hard.

At their jobs. At home.
At taking care of everyone.
At exercising.
At eating “right.”
At remembering the appointments and making the plans and keeping everything moving.

And honestly? So was I.

The Off Duty Life Club came out of those conversations, and out of my own realization that maybe none of us need to become newer, better, more disciplined versions of ourselves.

Are we actually enjoying the life we're working so hard to be healthy for?

Health should be part of your life. It shouldn't have your life in a chokehold.

In the mailbox

What actually
shows up.

Every season, you’ll get an envelope from The Off Duty Life Club built around one simple theme, we call them our “rooms.”
And inside?
Everything you need to actually do something with it.

ITEM ONE

A personal letter from me

where we’re going this season and why it might be exactly what you need
right now.

ITEM TWO

Your seasonal Life Recipe

3–5 ridiculously doable things, drink coffee somewhere new, leave one chore unfinished on purpose. Nothing that requires a trip to Michaels and $87 of supplies.

ITEM THREE

Your collectible Room Key

Mark it yourself: Felt good. Felt like too much. Absolutely not. A tangible little record of the season you finally did something for no reason at all.

I was mad when you told me to focus on sleep. I really thought you were going to give me more to do. But setting a bedtime was one of the best things you could have given me. Now that I’m sleeping more, I have more patience with the kids at school and with my own kids. It wasn’t what I thought I wanted, but it was exactly what I needed.

Four rooms, one at a time

You're not renovating your whole life. Just opening one door.

"I love this. But I cannot add one more thing to my plate."

Good. Neither can I.
